Linda McCartney was an American photographer, musician, animal rights activist, vegetarian cookbook author and advocate, and entrepreneur.

Despite being known for being the wife of Paul McCartney, he was not her first husband. Prior to their marriage, she was married to Joseph Melville See Jr., whom she met in college.

They married in June 1962, however, due to their dissimilar lifestyles which led to growing unhappiness, they divorced in June 1965.

Their marriage resulted in the birth of their daughter, and Linda’s first child, Heather Louise on December 31, 1962. She was later adopted by Paul McCartney.

Heather has three younger half-siblings named Mary, Stella, and James. She is a potter and artist who launched a line of houseware products called the Heather McCartney Houseware Collection in 1999.

Like the rest of her family, she has also chosen the vegetarian lifestyle and is passionate about animal rights.
